Affirmations are meant to be implemented as part of a lifestyle change. Too many people grasp the concept of affirmations incorrectly. They read about how developing personal affirmations can change their lives, get excited about the concept, develop a few haphazardly constructed daily affirmations and try their hand at it. Then they promptly give up when their affirmations ‘don’t work’.

One of the by-products associated with living in the fast paced ‘I want it now’ generation is a total lack of patience by the general population. Almost everything is available instantly, or pretty close to instantly, and so we want it yesterday. The problem is that this approach DOES NOT work with affirmations.

Whether we realize it or not, life was meant to be enjoyed, and the universe operates on this same principle. So that means slowing down and having a bit of patience. And just about everyone can benefit from a change of pace – a slower pace.

Daily affirmations are meant to be implemented as a lifestyle. Did you know that it takes a full 21 days to develop a new habit? Your personal affirmations should be an integral part of your day and should be figured into your daily schedule just as everything else is.

Time should be spent each day meditating and focusing on your goals, dreams, and desires. Practicing your affirmations when you feel like it just is not going to work. If you really want to achieve your desires, you will have to work at it and develop some patience. Remember, it is not an overnight thing. And it takes time to reprogram the many negative affirmations your subconscious has been indoctrinated with and align it with the positive affirmations you have developed as a part of your new lifestyle.
